Child's passport

Must be lodged in person 

One parent or person with parental responsibility for the child must lodge in person. The child is not required to attend the interview.

First adult passport

Must be lodged in person

This applies even if you previously held a passport as a child.

Adult renewal

Lodge by mail if:

you hold a current Australian adult passport (issued with at least two years' validity); and

the passport is current or expired by less than 2 years; and

the passport was issued with your current personal details (i.e name, date of birth, place of birth and sex); and

you are an Australian citizen aged 18 years or over.

Replacement of passport that expired more than 2 years ago
