ANZAC DAY - Tuesday 25th April 2017

On Tuesday 25th April 2017, commemorative ceremonies in London are:

Dawn Service, Australian War Memorial, Hyde Park Corner

Wreath Laying Ceremony and Parade, The Cenotaph


Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving, Westminster Abbey


5.00am: Dawn Service

Location: Australian War Memorial, Hyde Park Corner

The main service will take place in front of the Australian War Memorial at Hyde Park Corner.  The service will be approximately 45 minutes in length and is open to the public.  Tickets are not required to attend.  Entry will be from the Green Park side of Hyde Park Corner only and arrival is suggested from 4.00am. 

11.00am: Wreath Laying Ceremony and Parade

Location: The Cenotaph, Whitehall

Following a march onto Whitehall, a requiem is read and at 11.00am the High Commissioners for Australia and New Zealand will lay the first wreaths.  Wreaths are then laid by representatives of the UK government, High Commissioners and Ambassadors, as well as representatives from various service and ex-service organisations.

Arrival by 10.30am is recommended.  The service will conclude at approximately 11.15am, allowing time for the short walk to Westminster Abbey.

Complimentary tickets will be required to attend this service.

12.00pm: Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving

Location: Westminster Abbey

The Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving to mark ANZAC Day commences at 12.00 noon.  Guests must be seated by 11.45am and the service will last approximately one hour.

Complimentary tickets are required to attend this service.


Ticket applications for the Cenotaph and Westminster Abbey will go live at midday on Monday 27th February 2017.  You will need to provide ID details (passport or driver’s licence) for all applicants.  Please ensure you have this information to hand when making your application.
