On Saturday 19 March 2016, Queenslanders will vote for their local government mayor and councillors. On the same day electors will also be required to vote on a state referendum question regarding four-year fixed terms for the Legislative Assembly of Queensland. Queenslanders overseas cannot lodge a vote in person for the local government elections, but can lodge a vote for the State Referendum in certain locations.

Queenslanders who will be or are in the UK on polling day for the State Referendum can cast a pre-poll in person vote from the 7 - 18 March , Monday to Friday, between 9 and 5pm at:

2016 Local Government Election arrangements
Queenslanders cannot cast a vote in person while overseas for the 2016 local government elections. They will be required to lodge a postal vote application with the Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ) to receive ballot papers and return them directly to the ECQ.
