You must attend the High Commission to have your signature witnessed
You must present in person to have a signature witnessed and bring suitable photographic identification such as a passport or driver's licence.
It is the responsibility of the client to present the document to be serviced in the correct form, and to provide the correct instructions for witnessing. Fees are charged for this service.
If you are completing the Photo Kit for a NSW licensee, please note that due to a change in wording on the application form, consular officers are not able to complete Section C. Instead, we will provide you with a separate DFAT Identity Certificate. We encourage you to contact NSW Services to ensure they will accept this certificate.
Please note that consular officers are unable to sign the Department of Home Affairs Form 1195 Identity Declaration during notarial appointments, as the form requires the witness to know you personally. Please refer to the notes on page one under "Who can complete the Identity declaration" for further information.
