This application process is for adult applicants who have damaged their current adult passport and have more than two years remaining on the passport.
You can only use this process if the damage is minor (and you can still read the details on the passport photo page). If you are unsure, please email us a photo of your passport so we can advise.
If the damage is major (and you are unable to read any details on the passport photo page), then you should return to the HOME PAGE and follow the steps for an Adult Application.
Click on the below link to the Australian Passport Office website, then select Apply or Renew and create an account.
Respond to the security questions to flag the system that you are renewing an adult passport overseas. You will be directed to complete the Adult Renewal Application Form.
When you have completed the form online, come back to this page to follow the rest of the steps.
After you have completed the form online you will need to print it. Check the entire form has been printed and there is nothing missing at the top or bottom of the form, like the barcodes or boxes.
Using a black pen, sign and date the Applicant's Declaration in Section 5 of the form.
Check your signature is fully within the signature box. If any part of your signature is outside the box or is touching the edges of the box, you will need to print and sign the form again.
Do not use correction fluid or tape.
You will need to complete a B11 General Declaration By Passport Applicant Form. Please CLICK HERE to see the list of supplementary forms which you can download.
Print the B11 form and complete it by hand. Digital signatures are not accepted.
Please complete your personal details at the top of the form. Then write a detailed statement explaining what happened to the passport. Then complete the signature declaration at the bottom.
Australian passport photos are different to UK passport photos. Please check with your photographer if they can take photos that meet our guidelines. Do not use a photobooth.
